- Recycle all scrap building materials–such as gypsum crushed and reused to enrich soil.
- Excellent indoor air quality (IAQ).
- Planting water efficient landscaping.
- Outstanding energy performance.
- Retain all soil on project site.
- Bike/bike racks and walking paths.
- Dedicated interior space to recycle office materials.
- Parking areas set aside for low emitting and fuel efficient vehicles.
- Landscaping to reduce heat in summer and reduce cold in winter.
Energy
- Inexpensive and plentiful electrical power and other utilities.
- Use of geothermal heating and cooling.
- Use of solar panels.
- Efficient lighting fixtures with sensors to regulate lighting when not in use.
- Daylight and views to at least 75% of all spaces.
- Exterior walls to be 2″x6″ with insulating systems.
- Insulated concrete foundations.
- Insulated windows–latest technology.
Miscellaneous
- Public transportation available.
- Smoke free buildings, including no smoking within 25 feet of each building.
- Minimum indoor air quality (IAQ).
- Fundamental conditioning of building energy systems.
- Minimum energy performance.
- Construction activity pollution prevention.
