The Quad City Metro Area (MSA) consists of several communities with a population of approximately 400,000. The largest of the cities are Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island, and Davenport. The area is served by the Quad City International Airport with Delta, United, American, Northwest, and Air Tran the major carriers providing service for over 900,000 customers annually. The Quad Cities area has a rating of 93.9 on the cost of living index with a very affordable housing market with an average house costing $110,000. The population within a 300 mile radius is 38 million.

The Iowa school system is noted throughout the country for excellence with Bettendorf School District & the Pleasant Valley School District near the top of that system. Several major universities serve the area, including the University of Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Western Illinois, and Northern Illinois. Private four year, liberal arts institutions also support the area, including Augustana, St. Ambrose,and Ashford as well as a large number of community and technical colleges.

The i-wireless center, an award winning civic center, is situated along the Mississippi River, and hosts professional sporting events, concerts, and numerous family entertainment events.
